Children and the
Elections
Every decision in every realm of policymaking - education, health, highways, jobs, taxes - affects children. The quality of their schools, their regular attention by health care professionals, the jobs their parents hold that bring security and stability to their lives - all rely on a functioning society and a strong foundation of laws and programs. But before there are office-holders who make these decisions, there are office-seekers, trying to win the voters' confidence with confident plans for the future.
Kids can't vote, but you can. Learn more about children and elections, and be an informed voter:
- Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children has created a series of electoral Position Papers designed to detail our five core public policy issues. The papers include: Education; Early Care and Education/Early Learning; Health Care; Youth Development (focusing on youth 12-21); and Family Supports. Our goal is to help keep the focus on children this election season. Since kids can't vote, our advocacy helps give them a voice. Each paper has a state and federal version - plus a separate executive summary. Click here for the Position Papers.
