    Revisions to The State of the Child -- 2004

    Please stay in touch for corrections to The State of the Child in Pennsylvania -- 2004. Efforts to make sure all data was correct were taken, but occasionally, errors will be found. Corrections will be posted to this site. E-mail messages alerting readers to a change will be sent to those who supplied their e-mail address when they purchased the publication.     June 9, 2004 On page V-9, the map displaying rural and urban counties shows four counties coded incorrectly.

    - Adams County should be rural.

    - Franklin County should be mixed rural.

    - Fulton County should be rural.

    - Perry County should be mixed rural.

    On page 7 of the Executive Summary, the second bullet point under Early Childhood Education should read, "Other circumstances that can inhibit school readiness among young children are common -- mothers' lack of a high school education (one in seven), births to mothers under age 20 (one in 11), and low birth weights (one child in 12).
