Dropout Re-engagement

Today in Pennsylvania there are almost 110,000 young people ages 16-24 who have dropped out of high school before earning their diploma.  And each year, more than 30,000 additional young people – that’s 166 students every school day – do not make it to graduation with their class.  This loss of human potential not only affects these young people, it also significantly impacts our economy and communities.

The fiscal implications of dropping out are very real. Over the course of their lifetimes, dropouts make less money than their graduating peers; pay less in taxes; have fewer prospects to earn wages that support themselves and their families; and are more likely to rely on public assistance and get in trouble with the law.

Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children is committed to helping all young adults who have dropped out of high school re-connect to their education and a skilled workforce.
