Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children is an independent, nonprofit organization that works toward one objective: doing what is best for kids. We do not seek nor accept any government funding, but instead rely on grants, donations and sponsorships from individuals, corporations and foundations to advance our work.
Ways to Give to PPC
Below are the ways you, your foundation or your company can be someone for kids by making a gift to PPC. We encourage you to consult your financial advisor about how you might make the most tax-wise contribution:
Make an Online Gift
You may make a secure gift online using your credit card. None of your personal information will be used by PPC for any purpose other than to process your gift.
Write a Check
A simple way to give is to mail a check. Checks should be made payable to “Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children” or, simply, “PPC.” They should be mailed to:
Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children
116 Pine Street, Suite 430
Harrisburg, PA 17101
Corporate Matching Gifts
PPC receives additional contributions through the organizations and companies. These matching gifts can double, or more, the impact of your original support. Check to see if your employer has a matching gift program.
Gifts of Stock
Low-yielding securities can be a good way to make a meaningful and immediate gift with little or no change to your spendable income. A gift of appreciated stocks can often yield a greater tax savings than a gift of cash.
Make a Corporate Donation
Many business leaders in communities across Pennsylvania see improving the well-being of children as an investment that reaps rewards. Providing a solid foundation for children helps ensure an educated and productive workforce as children become young adults. Corporate/business gifts and grants of all sizes are welcome. Formal corporate sponsorships range from $1,500 to $25,000 or more per year.
Please see below for more information on becoming a PPC sponsor.
Shop Online and Support PPC
Online shoppers can provide additional support to PPC by shopping through iGive.com. More than 1,800 online stores participate and return an average of 3% of your purchase prices to PPC, many of which have exclusive deals and coupons. Shopping through iGive.com is free.
In addition to current gifts to PPC, planned estate gifts are important to PPC’s future efforts on behalf of Pennsylvania children. There are a number of options for creating a planned gift in your estate, including charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, outright bequests and life insurance. These gifts should be considered with the full framework of your estate and after seeking counsel from your tax and/or legal advisors. For more information on making a planned gift to PPC, please contact us at 717-236-5680.
Gifts in Honor
You may also make a gift to PPC in honor of a family member or friend. This is a meaningful way to celebrate the life and legacy of those important to you. For more information on making a gift in honor, please contact us at 717-236-5680.
Some donors wish for their charitable gifts to be designated for PPC’s permanent endowment. The endowment produces annual income to advance PPC’s mission while the corpus of the gift is maintained and grown over time.
The PPC Endowment is the inspiration of Lucy Durr Hackney, PPC founder and longtime board chair. When Mrs. Hackney founded Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, she dreamed of a prevention based research and advocacy organization to help at-risk children before it became too late to repair their shattered lives. Under her guidance, that dream has become reality. Twenty-five years later, PPC is respected as a leading advocacy organization for Pennsylvania’s children.
