Grasstops Engagement

PPC is home to the Pennsylvania chapters of three national membership networks that share a commitment to investing in kids as a strategy to maintaining a strong nation:

Fight Crime: Invest in Kids (Pennsylvania)

Who are they: More than 200 Pennsylvania law enforcement leaders (police chiefs, sheriffs, and district attorneys) advocating for evidence-based policies and programs that strengthen families and support positive youth development.

Why it matters: Public safety starts early. Investing in children (and their families) helps them thrive from an early age, reduces risk factors associated with delinquency, and ultimately improves the well-being of communities.

Mission: Readiness (Pennsylvania)

Who are they: Pennsylvania-based retired admirals, generals, and other senior military leaders advocating for policies and programs that ensure young people are prepared to succeed in any calling, including military service if they choose to serve.

Why it matters: Children’s health, learning, and stability shape their long-term readiness—whether for military service, higher education, or the workforce. Early investments help ensure Pennsylvania’s next generation must be prepared for the challenges ahead.

ReadyNation (Pennsylvania)

Who are they: Business leaders, including chambers of commerce, making the economic case for investments in children and working families so states can build a strong workforce and competitive economy.

Why it matters: Businesses depend on a reliable workforce today—and a skilled workforce tomorrow. Policies and programs that support working families and their children help parents participate in the labor force and help children succeed long-term.
