State of the Child 2025

At PPC, we’re all about harnessing data about child well-being to improve outcomes for children. Sharing data is about providing access to practical knowledge about child well-being in our communities to improve the lives of children and families.

Our revamped State of the Child profiles offer a variety of data points about children and families and their well-being in Pennsylvania and all 67 counties, including Population Diversity, Children Living in Poverty, and various Socioeconomic indicators. In addition, each profile includes in-depth data within each of our five policy areas: Child Welfare, Early Care and Education, Home Visiting, K-12 Education, and Perinatal and Children’s Health.

NEW! We’re excited to introduce our State of the Child interactive maps, a powerful tool that allows users to visually explore each indicator across counties and K-12 education information across school districts. Paired with relevant links to the KIDS COUNT® Data Center, these maps offer a comprehensive view of child well-being in Pennsylvania. We’re grateful to Harrisburg University for their collaboration on this project!
